The two additional compulsory modules, namely Scientific Practice and Scientific Presentation (semesters 3-4)
Elective Modules For each of the three specializations (Hydrogeology, Environmental Chemistry and Environmental Microbiology or Environmental Physics), a combination of three elective core modules (for a total of 18 credits), which are of special relevance, are defined and must be incorporated in the respective program of studies.

The remaining necessary forty-two credits can be chosen from any of the available elective modules. The following figures show the degree program for all three specializations. Upon request, additional modules related to the content and qualification objectives of the course can be admitted as elective modules by the chairperson of the examination board. |

Semester contribution | • Enrolment fees at the University of Tübingen are currently about 160 EUR per semester. • This includes use of local public transport free of charge from Monday to Friday in the evenings, at weekends, and on public holidays. • In addition, students may purchase a semester ticket for unlimited use of public transport in the city of Tübingen and the surrounding area (currently about 100 EUR). |
Costs of living | • Students spend around 700 € to 800 € per month on living costs. • The costs of rent, food, clothing, travel and cultural activities is slightly higher than the EU average. • The largest expense is rent.
