Winter semester studies starts in October every year.International students must plan their visa application accordingly.

Semester contribution Semester contribution depends on the location. In Leipzig, the semester contribution is approx. 250 EUR, which includes public transport. For scholarship holders, the semester contribution can be paid by the consortium.
Costs of living Students spend around 750 € to 850 € per month on living costs. The costs of rent, food, clothing, travel and cultural activities is slightly higher than the EU average. The largest expense is rent. So costs will change where you choose to live. You should try and get university dorm at earliest.

Academic admission requirements General formal requirement: Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related subject with an equivalent amount of chemistry content English language level B2 or better. All applications are assessed by a centralised consortium commission. The following weighting scheme is applied to the selection criteria, producing a weighted arithmetic mean: academic records of previous studies (coefficient 6) scientific background of undergraduate studies (coefficient 4) ranking of academic institution where undergraduate studies were done (coefficient 2) letter of motivation (coefficient 2) letters of recommendation (coefficient 2) foreign language proficiency (coefficient 2) practical experience (coefficient 1) awards and grants (coefficient 1)
Language requirements Applicants must provide proof of English language skills at level B2 or better according to the CEFR or an equivalent proof. The language performance is part of the admission criteria.

Possibility of finding part-time employment Finding a part time employment is possible once you arrive in Germany. If you speak German, then it gets easy for you. You are permitted for 20 hours/week with a valid study permit. Please check on your visa document, ist mentioned on it.
