Description/content

  • The four-semester Master’s programme deepens the mathematical, technical/IT and business administration knowledge that you have already gained during a Bachelor’s programme. You can choose one of the following four specialisations:
  • Embedded Systems: computer engineering topics in relation to embedded systems, e.g. Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Internet Engineering: design, development and implementation of complex technical systems in the interdisciplinary field of information and communications technology
  • Digital Media/Media IT: design, development and implementation of interactive systems, especially computer games, virtual reality, augmented reality, user-centred design and artificial intelligence
  • Business IT: complex practical aspects of business management applications, such as business intelligence, data analysis and visualisation, business applications, business process management, supply chain management.
  • The programme is designed for graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline who wish to
  • specialise in one of the four available areas,
  • develop their methodological skills and knowledge of computer engineering,
  • work on scientific problems to develop innovative solutions and
  • work on research projects, and who
  • are aiming to proceed to a doctoral degree after successful completion,
  • enjoy working as part of a team and have good English skills.
  • If you have a degree in computer science and wish to enhance your methodological and computer science skills and knowledge by specialising in one of these three areas, then this might well be suitable for you.
  • The Master’s programme in Applied Computer Science is divided into three semesters of study and one final semester for writing the Master’s thesis.
  • Students acquire a broad and solid base of subject and specialist knowledge and learn about the connections between different technologies and possible solutions. In the process they also learn how to develop and apply scientific methods and knowledge.
  • ??????? The taught courses are supplemented at all stages of the programme by laboratory exercises, practicals and project work. Some courses are additionally run in conjunction with practitioners, which enables students to put the theory they have learned directly into practice.
