Costs of living Basel city has a generous offering of art galleries, museums, opera houses, and theatres. Living cost for students in Basel is approx. 800 € - 900 €. This cost consist of rent, public transport, health insurance, groceries etc. but this varies depending on your requirements

Academic admission requirements Proof of a subject-related BA or BSc degree according to the MSG African Studies curriculum is required . The master’s degree is strongly influenced by the social sciences. Corresponding basic knowledge, experience of Africa or knowledge of Africa are an advantage, but not a requirement for admission. After registering with the study administration office (see the section on the beginning of your studies), the African Studies teaching committee will carry out a technical examination of the dossiers and, if necessary, formulate requirements for admission. The study secretariat notifies the rectorate's decision. The office of the Center for African Studies Basel (ZASB) provides information on the exact admission requirements.
Language requirements For courses taught in English, advance level of English language is required. If course is taught in any other language student must have enough knowledge of those languages. More information on course web.
